Based in Charing, Kent, Broomsticks began in 2016 as a small idea with a big purpose. I’m Claire, the founder and Managing Director, and I started the company not as part of some grand business plan, but simply to help cover nursery fees for my son. After leaving a temporary marketing role in insurance to have him in 2014, I was lucky enough not to have to return to work right away—but I wanted something for myself again. Cleaning had always been a passion of mine (yes, really!), so I decided to give it a go professionally.

History
What began as a premium domestic housekeeping service quickly earned a reputation for quality, care, and consistency. By 2019, we’d become a limited company, VAT registered, and ready to take things to the next level. In 2020, we expanded into construction and commercial cleaning, responding to growing demand from contractors, developers, and business owners who were tired of settling for “good enough.”
In 2021, my partner Lee came on board as Operations Director, and very quickly identified huge opportunities to elevate the existing construction industry finishing standards. Property detailing was born and this escalated properties and projects from being ‘clean’ to outstanding.
Clean, was not clean enough!
By 2022, we’d expanded into offering professional external cleaning services, and in 2025 we introduced our detailing service into the world of professional carpet cleaning – another step forward in our commitment to offer truly comprehensive, high-standard finishing solutions.

That passion and professionalism have led to some amazing moments, including being named Best Cleaning Business in Kent at the England Business Awards in 2023, and becoming multi-year finalists at the SE Construction Awards and the Maidstone Business Awards through 2024 and 2025.
